The AHR Expo debuted in 1930 as the premier event for the Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration industry. Since its inception, the show has been produced by International Exposition Company (IEC). Founded in 1911, IEC is one of the oldest continually operating trade show management companies in the world.
To date, there have been 75 AHR Expos since the inaugural launch in Philadelphia nearly 100 years ago at the Commercial Museum as a spin off of The National Exposition of Power and Mechanical Engineering. In 1947, AHR Expo brought in ASHRAE as a show co-sponsor, and in the early 1970s, AHRI joined the co-sponsorship. Both esteemed organizations continue this partnership, validating the importance of the show in HVACR. Additionally, throughout its long history the show has grown to include support from other major industry associations and stakeholders and continues to build on the needs of the industry today.
The show and its management maintain a deep-rooted history of collaborating with professionals from all corners of the industry—a shared partnership that culminates in an annual three-day forum for the exchange of ideas aimed at strengthening the industry and the world we live in. Since its inception, AHR Expo continues to facilitate relationship pathways for innovation and the development of products and technology that support healthy and life-sustaining indoor environments and processes.
