2009 AHR Expo Innovation Award Competition
The AHR Expo Innovation Awards are given each year to recognize the most innovative and useful products showcased at
the AHR Expo in nine separate categories: Building Automation, Cooling, Green Building, Heating, Indoor Air Quality
(IAQ), Refrigeration, Software, Tools, and Ventilation. Products are judged on the basis on their design, creativity,
energy efficiency, and value to the HVAC&R Industry. (click here to see 2008 Award Winners)
Award Winning products and products worthy of Honorable Mention are determined by a panel of judges, appointed by the
ASHRAE Journal for their knowledge and expertise in the HVAC&R Industry. Award Winners will be honored with an engraved
crystal award during a brief Ceremony held at the AHR Expo in January. During the Ceremony, one of the nine winners
will be identified as the 2009 AHR Expo Product of the Year Winner.
The entry fee for the competition is $75 and all proceeds go to provide a local vocational school with a scholarship for
their HVAC&R program.

Deadline for submissions: September 15, 2008
Entry Fee: $75 payable by check or credit card
Eligibility: Only those products manufactured by a 2009 AHR Expo Exhibitor and being showcased at the Expo may be entered
into the competition. Each Exhibitor is allowed to enter one product per category and any one product may only be entered
into a single category. Past Award Winning products are not eligible but any products that received an Honorable Mention
or were not recognized at all, may be resubmitted.
Award Winners Receive:
- Engraved crystal award, suitable for display in company headquarters, presented at a Ceremony held in the convention center during the AHR Expo.
- Placards for their booths that designate their product as an AHR Expo Innovation Awards Winner.
- An electronic image of the Award Winner logo, useful for advertisements and other marketing material.
- A feature in a special section of the ASHRAE Journal.
- Recognition on the AHR Expo website.
Innovation Award Honorable Mentions receive:
- Placards for their booths that designate their product as an AHR Expo Innovation Award Honorable Mention.
- An electronic image of the Award Honorable Mention logo, useful for advertisements and other marketing material.
- Recognition on the AHR Expo website.
