Boothmanship 101: Keys to Exhibiting Success

  1. START TODAY: Use PRE-SHOW MARKETING to let prospects and customers know you will be exhibiting and invite them to see your display. Invited visitors are most valuable and walk-bys become icing on the cake.
  2. PLAN AHEAD: It's important for attendees to know WHY they should visit your exhibit. Before and during the Show, communicate to visitors the main REASON they should walk into your booth.
  3. STRATEGIZE: Establish measurable goals before the Show and make sure your PURPOSE for exhibiting is clear to both the attendee and your staff. Give attendees a clear and precise sales message.
  4. ATTRACT: WELCOME attendees into your booth. Face the flow of visitor traffic, making eye contact as often as possible.
  5. SHINE: Once you've made eye contact, a SMILE and a POSITIVE ATTITUDE are your best assets.
  6. STAY ALERT: No one will be attracted to your display if it is staffed by people who appear disinterested. Therefore, avoid sitting, eating, reading and especially sleeping in your booth. (Yes, we have seen them all.)
  7. SELL IT: Staff your booth with employees who are KNOWLEDGABLE about your products, how they work, and their application so that they can answer questions the Attendees ask.
  8. REPRESENT: Dress and speak in a PROFESSIONAL manner. Remember that your people are REPRESENTING YOUR COMPANY and a potential buyer's opinion of your companyÕs staff may very well influence their opinion of your products as well, and whether they decide to buy from your company.
  9. IDENTIFY: Make sure attendees can clearly DISTINGUISH who is working for your company and can answer their questions. Company lanyards or shirts with logos are a great way to make your staff stand out.
  10. FOLLOW THROUGH: Have a specific plan in place for getting LEADS to the appropriate sales person so they can be turned into SALES. Be certain that they are followed up immediately.
